Charley Tucker Buried Saturday Funeral services for Charley Tucker were held at the Jacobsen Funeral Home at St. Paul on Saturday, August 29, 1970 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. George Craig officiating. James P. Jacobsen, soloist, sang “Beautiful River” and “Going Down the Valley” accompanied by Mrs. E. L. Paulsen, organist. Casketbearers were Harvey Kroeger, Alvin Kroeger, Dick Whitefoot, George Rief, Virgil Stafford and Wayne Jackson. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Jacobsen Funeral Service of St. Paul had charge of the arrangements. Charley Tucker, son of John and Lettie Tucker was born May 12, 1904 at Cotesfield. His early education was received at Dannebrog and later moved with his parents to Johnstown, where he graduated from the Johnstown High School. On March 3, 1926, he was united in marriage to Emma Rose Schenk at Winner, South Dakota. The couple lived at Johnstown for a time and in 1927 they moved to a farm east of Dannebrog. In 1941, they moved to Crocker, Missouri and in 1942 they returned to Dannebrog where he was employed as an electrician. When a small child, Charley was baptized at the Dannebrog Baptist Church. He passed from this life on Wednesday, August 26, 1970 near Dannebrog at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Emma; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Gutterman of Omaha, Mrs. Margurite Ryan of Downey, California; and Mrs. Ilene Chrisp of Hershey; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Chupp of Yuba City, California; one brother Tracy of Grand Island. Preceding in death were his parents and one sister, Mrs. Thresa Nielsen.
