Roseanna Watchorn, 89, of Ponca, NE, formerly of Newcastle, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital surrounded by family.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle, with the Rev. Andrew Sohm officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation will resume 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Roseanna was born on April 23, 1925, in Newcastle, to John and Annie (Kneifl) Marron. She attended and graduated from Newcastle High School. She was the youngest girl of nine children.
Roseanna was married to John "Bud" Lowe on April 18, 1946, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle. Their union was blessed with five children and 41 years of marriage. The couple farmed south of Ponca and then moved to Newcastle and owned and operated a service station and café for many years. Bud passed away on December 18, 1986, in Newcastle. She was later married to Kenneth "Joe" Watchorn in July 2000 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle. He preceded her in death in March 2005. After retiring from the restaurant business at age 65, she went into the housekeeping business in the Sioux City area until age 7.
Roseanna enjoyed cooking and always trying new recipes. She loved getting the family all together. She had a strong work ethic. She loved to travel and winter in Arizona. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Sodality.
She is survived by her children, Josephine (Kevin) Monahan of Sioux City, Sharon (Marlan) Rolfes of Newcastle, John R. (Jeri) Lowe of Newcastle, and Debra (Marvin DeBlauw of Hartingon, NE; grandchildren, Patrick Monahan, Jill (Scott) Love, Kerri (Bruce) Meyer, Chad (Lori) Rolfes, Craig (Jenny Rolfes, Jeremiah Hinz, Sarah Lowe, Ryan (Emily) Lowe, Riley Lowe, Abbey Lowe, Matt (Becky) Jones, Marcus (Mandy) Jones, and Jason Jones; 18 great-grandchildren; a special brother, Glenn (Eileen)Marron; and sister-in-law, Catherine Marron.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; her daughter, Mary Ann Lowe; and a daughter-in-law, Irene "Reno" Lowe.

Roseanna was truly the center of her family. She lived out her faith every day and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
