Mildred Mae Lumongsud, 80 passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at a Sioux City hospital.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Wittrock officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the City Cemetery in Concord, NE. Visitation was on Tuesday, June 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of mother’s life followed the service at the American Legion Hall in South Sioux City.
Mildred was born July 28, 1933, in Wausa, Nebraska, the daughter of John H. and Helen L. (Salmon) Hattig.
Mildred graduated from Concord High School.
She Married Edwin W. Spath and later to Roy Lumongsud.
She loved gardening and working in her flower gardens and received the yard of the month. She also liked gathering wild flowers from the road ditches. Mildred was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She loved cooking, road trips, fishing, mushroom hunting and socializing with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons and their wifes, Dale John (Becky) Spath, Doug (Judy) Spath all of Sioux City. One daughter and her husband, Donna (Richard) Fowler of South Sioux City, Ne. Two brothers, Jack and his wife (Linda) Hattig and Willard and his companion Nancy Carey all of South Sioux City, Ne. One sister and her husband, Marlene (Richard) Johnson of Harlan, Ia and her canine friend Brandy. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Helen, her husbands Edwin and Roy, three brothers, Leonard, Larry and Earl and two great grandchildren Johnathon and Nevaeh.
