Ruby Jane Eversull, 74, died Saturday in San Diego, Calif., with her loving family by her side after
a five-month battle with cancer.
Born in Alliance, Neb., she was the daughter of James and Ruth Lawrence. Ruby graduated from
Ontario High School in Oregon in 1957. She worked for the Linn County Schools in Halsey
driving the school bus. She also drove bus in the Los Angeles Unified School District in the late
’80s. She drove many of the kids from elementary to high school. She loved the school kids like
they were her own. The school kids affectionately called her “mom.”
Her husband of 48 years, Leslie E. Eversull Sr., and oldest son Leslie E. Eversull Jr. preceded her
in death.
“Bubbles” (as her siblings called her) leaves behind four sisters and three brothers: Fyrne of
Albany, James of Portland, Sharon of Boise, Idaho, Fred of Emmett, Idaho, Diana of Albany,
Randy of Boise, Idaho, and Tracy of Laredo, Texas.
Les and Ruby were married on Oct. 15, 1956 in Alliance, Neb. Les and Ruby led a good country
life living in Nebraska, Colorado, California and Oregon. They had four children. Ruby was a
proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her family and loved to
spend quality time with them all.
Her surviving children are Scott of Hawaii, Cheryl Marshek and son-in-law Paul of San Diego,
Calif., and Lisa Lessard and son-in-law Mark of Santa Clarita, Calif. Ruby leaves behind nine
grandchildren, Tyler, Tara, Jeremiah, Sarah, Kristin, Andrew, Amy, Matthew and Luke. Her 11
great-grandchildren will miss their "GG" dearly.
Burial will be at the Hemingford Cemetery in Hemingford, Neb., on June 28, 2014.
