Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Stolley Park Church of Christ. Evangelist Gary Bennett will officiate.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bauer was born on February 9, 1918 in Wolbach, Nebraska to Andrew and Leona (Wibbels) Anderson.
Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters, Jan Anderson-Bauer of Lubbock, Texas, and Niki Bauer of Surprise, Arizona; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Jim & Judy Bauer of Lincoln, and Bill & Sherry Musurlian-Bauer of San Clemente, California; daughter-in-law, Carole Bauer of Moscow, Idaho; three sisters, Marion Clark of Wheatridge, Colorado, Jean Jensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Joan & Wayne Henry of Bettendorf, Iowa; one brother, Art Anderson of Waukee, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, LaVonne Anderson of Harlan, Iowa, and Elizabeth Anderson of Walnut, Iowa.
Additional survivors include 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bauer attended school in Wolbach, and graduated in 1935.
She married Ivan Bauer on October 17, 1937 in Lincoln. The couple operated a boarding house in Lincoln.
Mr. & Mrs. Bauer lived in various states because of his job as a civil engineer. While in California, Mrs. Bauer received her nursing degree and worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
The couple moved to Grand Island in 1981.
Mrs. Bauer enjoyed cooking, knitting, dancing, and collecting cookbooks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ivan, in 2004; one son, Richard, and four brothers, Paul Anderson, Ralph Anderson, Lawrence Anderson, and John Anderson.
