Robert D. Brown, 83. of Lincoln, died December 7, 2014. Mr. Brown was born April 12, 1931 to C. Irvin & Anna H. Brown in River Rouge, MI. Robert graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Fort Dodge, IA, received his Bachelor's Degree from St. John's University, Collegeville, MN and completed his Master's and Doctorate Degrees at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA. Carl A. Happold Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Educational Psychology, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; US Army 1952-1954, Director of Counseling Center, University of Nebraska, Loyola University, Chicago. Distinguished Teaching Awards: 1978, 1987, 1992; National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Teaching Award 1993. Past President, American College Personnel Association; Past Editor: Journal of College Student Development; Fellow, American Psychological Association; Senior Scholar, American College Personnel Association; Past President, Nebraska Psychological Association and Nebraska College Personnel Association, ACPA College Student Educators International Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Robert competed in numerous marathons including: New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Pikes Peak and Lincoln. He ran across Nebraska in 1984 and biked across the United States in 1993. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Billy & Paulie Brown; brother-in-law, Millard Davis. |
