Melva Jane (Kraemer) Elton, 58, of Wakefield, Nebraska passed away on March 16, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wakefield on Monday, March 20th at 10:30 am with visitation beginning at 9:30 am; Pastor Willie Bertrand is officiating. Interment will follow at the Wakefield Cemetery and a reception and lunch will be served at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield is in charge of the arrangements. Melva was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 27, 1958 and was lovingly adopted at 11 weeks old by Melvin and Neva Kraemer. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1977. She enjoyed interior decorating and was a celebrated artist and accomplished seamstress and excelled at a variety of crafts. Many cherished memories were made as she shared her love of arts and crafts with her granddaughter and taught her how to sew. While living in South Sioux City, Melva served as a foster parent for many children. She was a lover of all animals and cared for many beloved pets throughout her lifetime, as well. Melva is survived by her mother, Neva Kraemer of Wakefield; two sons, Mike Elton of Wakefield and Andy Elton of Hastings; daughters-in-law, Angie Kleinschmit of Hastings and Sarah Breen of Omaha; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Bo, and Brody. She is preceded in death by her father, Melvin Kraemer. |
