|Margaret Eileen (Hogan) Rooney, 93, of Hubbard passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.|
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hubbard, with the Rev. Paul Albenisius officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.
Marge was born on March 12, 1922, in Waterbury, NE, to Joseph and Rose (Gill)Hogan. She graduated from Waterbury High School.
On November 5, 1941, Marge married Thomas Benidick Rooney at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hubbard. The couple had seven children.
Marge was a member of St. Mary's Parish, where she was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Harty McNally Auxiliary. Marge loved playing cards, quilting and embroidering, and making cookies for the neighborhood kids.
She is survived by sons, Richard (Mary Ann) Rooney of Chicago, IL, Mark (Karen) Rooney of Chicago, and Tim (Cynthia) Rooney of Centerville, VA; daughters, Rosemary Killian of Port Byron, IL, Jeannie (Blaine) Gaer of Pender, and Monica (Bob) McKay of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Sue Rooney of Jackson, NE; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Tom; parents, Joe and Rose; son, Tom Jr.; grandson, Thomas Luke Rooney; eight brothers and sisters-in-law; parents-in-law, Mabel and Ben Rooney; and son-in-law, Ron Killian.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of her grandson, Thomas Luke Rooney.
