Cindy R. (Smith) Hanson

Cindy R. Hanson, 60, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Embassy Health Care in Sergeant Bluff.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mohr Funeral Home, 1431 W. 29th Street, in South Sioux City. Visitation with the family will be noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Cindy was born on January 5, 1955, in Sioux City, the daughter of Jack and Barbara (Keairns) Smith. She attended Central High School.
She married Charles T. Capers. To this union three children were born. Cindy later married the love of her life and best friend, Mark Hanson, on July 24, 1987, in Sioux City. She worked at MCI and First Financial Bank USA in Dakota Dunes.
She was a member of the Jackson American legion Auxiliary and was a blood donor for years. Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, crocheting, rummaging, baking cookies, cake decorating and rescuing cats.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Hanson; daughters, Robin Capers and Nicole (Jeremy) Kratke; seven grandchildren, Justina, Joslyn and Jalysa Kratke, Madison, Emily, Christopher and Johnathon Capers-Jones; great-grandson, Ashton; sister, Jackie (Dan) O'Neill; brother, Michael Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Barbara Smith; a son, Charles D. Capers; and a sister, Cathy Donnelly.
