| Funeral services were held at First Lutheran Church in Allen, Wednesday, December 17 (1969), for Ernest Geiger, 79, who died after a heart attack at his home Sunday evening, December 14. Rev. John Erlandson officiated. Burial was in Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Gary White, Robert Andrews, Larry Geiger, Dale Jackson, Lyle Geiger, and Darryl Geiger. Herbert Ellis sang accompanied by D'Vee Koester. Ernest George Geiger, son of George and Minnie Pouch Geiger, was born May 25, 1890 at Spencer, SD. He moved as a child from Spencer to the Allen community and farmed in the Waterbury and Allen communities until 1950 when they moved to their present home in Allen. He was married to Faye Cleveland September 17, 1913 in Sioux City. They observed their 56th wedding in September this year. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Allen. He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. LeVerna White of Sioux City, Mrs. Merle (Dorothy) Andrew of St. Paul, Mrs. Gaylen (Carol) Jackson of Allen; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Jessie Truby of Laurel, NE. |
