| Frank F. Boeshart, 78, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of South Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at a hospital in Rochester, MN. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, IA, with the Rev. Tom LoVan officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Eastview Cemetery, rural Allen, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin at 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service and Masonic rites at 7 p.m., with CLS Neil Peck and Marvin Andersen presiding, at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Frank was born on March 12, 1935, in rural Dixon, NE, the son of Frank and Edith (McGowen) Boeshart. He graduated from Dixon High School in 1952. He attended barber college in Sioux City, before entering the US Army. Frank married Joyce Fegley in the middle of a snowstorm in Pierre, SD, on January 2, 1960. The couple settled in South Sioux City and raised three children. Frank worked at Terminal Grain Corp. in Sioux City, working his way up to vice president. After his retirement in 2000, Frank and Joyce moved to Mountain Home, Ark. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and traveling and was known as a "handyman extraordinaire". He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Frank was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council. He was Past Master of Alpha Lodge, where he was the first one elected to that position two years in a row. He was a member of the Sioux City Valley Scottish Rites and Abu Bekr Temple Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Boeshart of Mountain Home, Ark.; children, Mary Farlow of Waconia, MN, Frank (Susan) Boeshart of Apple Valley, MN, and Greg (Alicia) Boeshart of Allen, NE; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Stanley of South Sioux City, and Patricia Gleason of Coleridge, NE; brother-in-law, Gerald Stanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith Boeshart; one brother, Neal and his wife, Betty Boeshart; two sisters, Edith and her husband, Marty Fessler and Angelina Stanley; and brothers-in-law, Dale Stanley and Claire Gleason. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shriners Children's Hospitals and the American Cancer Society. |
