| Vernard Raymond "Vern" O'Neill, 91, of Dallas, TX, formerly of Ponca, died on August 17, 2015. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rowlett, TX. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, with a rosary at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. View the complete obituary at www.resthavenfuneral.com Vern was born in Ponca, to Thomas J. and Mayme A. (Carpenter) O'Neill, on January 23, 1924. He graduated from Ponca High School. Vern married Margaret Rosamond "Peg" Harnett on September 26, 1944 in Jackson. The couple farmed in the Ponca area. In 1959, they moved to Dallas. Vern is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Peg Hartnett O'Neill; seven children, Rick (Debbie) O'Neill of Granbury, TX, Sue Ann (Larry) DeBower of McKinney, Tx, Linda Sanders of Forney, TX, Kelly O'Neill (Jeann) of Royse City, Tx, Kim (Linda) O'Neill of Dallas, T.J. O'Neill of Dallas, and Lisa Nevitt of Garland, TX; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his 101-year-old brother, Leonard O'Neill of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his grandson, John Patrick "JP" O'Neill; his brothers, Don, Frank and Jack; and his sister, Millie O'Neill. |
