Rosella (Curry) Lowe

Rosella M. "Rosie" Lowe, 88, of Ponca passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, with the Revs. Andrew Sohm and David Liewer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary at South Creek Cemetery, rural Ponca. Visitation with the family present will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.
Rose was born on March 17, 1927, in Ponca, NE, the daughter of Ray and Della (Gibbs) Curry. She attended Sunnyside School in rural Ponca, and graduated from Ponca High School with the class of 1945.
Rosie married Jack Lowe at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca on February 14, 1950. They farmed west of Ponca before moving to town in 1987. Rosie worked for Gambles for many years.
She loved baking bread, yard work, flowers and gardening, and at the age of 65, she took up the game of golf, which she dearly loved. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Altar Society and a past member of Highland Oaks Golf Club.
Survivors include her son, Phil and his wife, Kari Lowe of Ponca; daughters, Becky and her husband, Tony Pick of LeMars, IA, Vicki and her husband, Mark Richards of Exira, IA, and Shelly Kunkel of Remsen, IA; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, James (Bonnie) Lowe of Nebraska City, NE, and Larry (Louise) Lowe of Ponca; sister-in-law, Michaeleen (Jerry) Boulay of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Della Curry; her husband, Jack Lowe on February 20, 1991; sister and brother-in-law, Aletha and Paul Miille; brother, Melvin Curry; infant sister, Lois Curry; brother-n-law, Joe Lowe; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Larry Walsh; and a nephew, Mark Lowe.
