Ramon (Walchek) Johnson

Ramona J. Johnson, age 80, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Unity Point Health - St. Luke's of Sioux City. Private family burial will be at the Dakota City Cemetery of Dakota City, NE. A visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the Becker - Hunt Funeral Home of South Sioux City, NE.
Ramona was born on March 3, 1934 in Sioux City, IA to Joseph and Marie (Muhe) Walchek. Ramona lived and worked most of her life in South Sioux City. She attended South Sioux City Schools graduating in 1953. On January 1, 1955 she married John E. Bonham, Jr. During their marriage a daughter and son were born (Pam and Mark). John passed away in 1964. In 1974, Ramona re-married to James Johnson of South Sioux City.
Ramona worked for many years as a waitress at the Park Plaza Restaurant. She also worked at James Drug Zelda's Gift Shop for man years which she loved, then worked at Matney's Nursing Home in housekeeping until her retirement in 2007 at the age of 73. Ramona loved spending time with her family, going to Bingo with her daughter, playing Yahtzee, her passion, and looking for treasures by going to rummages and garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and a sister-in-law, Janey Walchek.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela and her husband Mark Stines of Dakota City, NE; a son, Mark E. Bonham of South Sioux City, NE; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara O'Neill of South Sioux City, NE and a brother, Ronald Walchek of Cibilo, TX.
