| Donald LaVerne Pearson of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Sioux City, died January 6, 2015. Services will be Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Security, CO. Arrangements are under the direction of Dove-Witt Family Mortuary in Fountain, CO. Don was born on January 28, 1925, in Ponca, NE, the son of Max Pearson and Helen (Stroup) Pearson. He was raised in South Sioux City. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1943. He married Lois June Porepp on June 21, 1952. They lived in South Sioux City for a short time before moving to Sioux City. Don held various jobs before beginning employment with Mid American Energy (IPS) at Kirk Station. He then advanced to the Port Neal Stations as a plant operator. He retired after 30 years of service. He was a great and generous husband, dad and grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Dawn (Tom) Stewart and Jill O'Brien, all of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother. |
