Frances "Jean" (Rockwell) Bottorff

Frances J. "Jean" Bottorff, 80, of Ponca passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, with the Rev. Andrew Sohm officiating. Burial will be in Ponca Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a rosary/wake service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.
Jean was born in her family home in Ponca, on December 25, 1933, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Pletsch) Rockwell. She graduated from Ponca High School.
Jean married Ronald Bottorff, of Ponca, shortly after graduation. This union resulted in four children, Craig, Kathy, Paul, and Ann, whom they raised in Santa Ana, CA. In 1996, she returned to her roots, moving back to Ponca.
Jean was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and had a deep, abiding faith in Christ. She had a strong sense of community and touched many with her kind heart. She will forever be remembered for her unique sense of humor and her ability to bring laughter and love to all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Craig (Linda) Bottorff of Longview, WA, Kathy (Tim) Bradley of Anaheim, CA, Paul (Lucie) Bottorff of Orange, CA, and Ann (Don) Carroll of Tehachapi, CA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Bettie) Rockwell of Sioux City; and a sister-in-law, Betty Rockwell of Missouri.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Gertrude Rockwell; and sisters, brothers, and brothers-in-law, Maxine (Darwin) Iddings, Marjorie (John) Hurley, Robert Rockwell, Merle Rockwell and Mary Ann (Jeff) Waters.
